Who  we are...

The site you are now visiting is owned by an association " Les Partenaires de l'Office de Tourisme : VERNON et ses environs " (The Partners of the Vernon Tourist Office: Vernon and surrounding places).

We are here to think about and take part in the tourist development of Vernon and the surrounding area, that is to say mainly GIVERNY, the village  that  Claude Monet, who lived there for forty years, made famous.

Beside the Tourist Office of Vernon & Giverny, managed by the Greater Vernon Council (Communauté d'agglomérations des Portes de l'Eure, or C.A.P.E.), our association, registered under French law as "type Loi 1901", plays  a  complementary role :  as voluntary workers, the "Partners" bring in their experience, know-how and knowledge of local resources and situation.

What about visitors? How does this effect them?

It is immaterial for them to know about the administrative and legal organisation of the Tourist Office.
Both the members of the association and the staff of the Tourist Office are intent on providing visitors with the best service, for them to discover the beauty and charm of our area.

Office de Tourisme des Portes de l'Eure

Have a good journey visiting our site and we hope this will prompt you to come and actually visit Vernon and Giverny !
